Strawberry Apple Smoothie.

Let’s all pause for a smoothie moment….

Sip. Slurp. Repeat.

Ahhhhhh yes, refreshing isn’t it?

I’m sipping on a creamy, fruit smoothie, blended with strawberries and apples with a twist of natural honey sweetness.

Sip. Slurp. Repeat.

As y’all know, I’m a Green Smoothie fan.   But sometimes it’s nice to change things up- like during the hot summer months when you’re craving a refreshing, cold, fruity beverage.  Or when you’re still battling remnants of the plague, and you’re trying to gobble up as much Vitamin C as possible.

So why did I choose apples and strawberries?

Apples are one of the healthiest foods a person can eat. They are high Vitamin C and fiber, and they are also low in calories and have no fat or cholesterol.  They often are called a “miracle food,” an apple a day really may keep the doctor away.  And let’s be real, I could use all the help I can get right now.

Strawberries are also an excellent source of Vitamin C, which helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents.  Plus, the sparkling red color and the sweet tangy taste of this delicious fruit puts it at the top of my favorite fruits list.

Need I say more?

Bryan got me this perfect little turtle tag which will remind me to get some extra Vitamin C this week! Well played Bryan, well played…

Strawberry Apple Smoothie
Yield: Serves 1

  • 1.5 cups frozen (or fresh) strawberries
  • 1 medium apple (I used Gala)
  • 1 cup non-dairy (or regular) milk
  • 1 T honey or agave
  • 2-3 ice cubes

INSTRUCTIONS:  Add ingredients to a high speed blender.  Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

This recipe has 5 simple ingredients and is sure to have you begging for more. 🙂

Clearly these two weren’t nearly as excited as I was about this bomb-ass smoothie.  Owell, more for me!

Happy Sunday everyone!
