Every year during this time, Floridians have to worry about hurricanes. And right now, we are prepping for one of the worst hurricanes ever recorded.
Stocking up on non-perishable food, water, batteries, putting up shutters and filling up gas tanks are just a few of the things we do in preparation. Bryan and I have done all of the preparing we possibly can, and now we just have to wait…
As well as eat all the perishable food we have in our fridge. Hey, y’all know how much I hate wasting food. 🙂

I grew up eating crockpot chili. I also grew up eating lots of potatoes – in case you forgot, I’m from Idaho (insert potato joke here…). For this recipe I decided to combine the two. Sure, it’s 95 degrees outside, but it’s never to hot for chili IMO.
I have a few chili recipes on the blog already, but this one might be my new favorite. I see new recipes as constant works in progress – I’m always tweaking the flavor each time I make them, whether it be by adding different spices or different ingredients. Isn’t that what makes cooking fun?! I think so.

I’m sure a lot of you are going to see the word eggplant and immediately stop reading this post…but wait! Before you go, hear me out. Eggplant isn’t my favorite vegetable either, it’s spongy and bland. But when you prepare it the proper way – like with loads of cheese, bread crumbs and marinara sauce – it can be rather tasty!

I’ve been craving pasta lately…(okay, let’s be real. I ALWAYS crave pasta. This is nothing new).
And not just any pasta, I’ve been yearning for pasta with thick, creamy white sauce. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a huge red pasta sauce gal.
“What do you mean?!” Bryan would say…“You put red sauce on everything…”
Okay, while he may be right (please don’t tell him I said that), for some reason I only like red sauce when I’m dipping breadsticks into it or smothering it on top of pizza (which already has some on it).
